If you would like to take part in the Shinnyo Lantern Floating Festival online, there will be several ways of doing so. We will be offering a changing, daily programme online (including live-streamed elements), as we move through the eight-day period 19th - 26th September 2020. Contents will include opportunities to learn about the traditions of Shinnyo Lantern Floating, reflect and meditate on short teachings, and hear Buddhist chanting.
You can also create and send us messages and/or illustrations for a lantern, which we will attach and float on your behalf on the final day of the event, Saturday the 26th of September. Additionally, for those who cannot visit the temple grounds but would like to create a physical lantern at home, we have a downloadable lantern template kit that you can print at home in order to create your very own paper lantern.
On 26th September we will close the Shinnyo Lantern Floating Festival 2020 with a longer live-streamed event when all participants – both online and in person can come together as a community.
Starting the 19th of September 2020, we will be releasig livestreaming content on our livestreaming page.
